    Rm250 Blaster Project

Wow! This sounds like an interesting project! I don't think it matters what radiator you use, as long as it is big enough to keep the motor cool. The only thing I would recommend is to place the rad a little bit higher than the motor. The reason for this is to keep air bubbles out of the...

    Blaster 2+4 axle

You could go to Rocky Mountain ATV and buy a G-Force axle. I got one for mine and it is really nice. It is adjustable from +4 to +6 I think. It also comes with a lifetime warranty and I'm pretty sure they only cost $199.

Cable Rear Brakes. "How to make them work"

I would definitely recommend getting the short rear brake cable. It simplifies the rear brake system and makes everything work better. Good write-up.

    Help with new blaster

If the machine is still stock, then a change in altitude probably wouldn't have enough effect to cause the problems you are experiencing. You could clean the carb to make sure all the jets are open and not plugged. If a pilot jet was plugged it could cause poor performance at low speeds...

    mounting back tires

I have to agree with redhatman, breaking the tires off the beads is really hard to do. I just swapped tires yesterday. I have a manual tire changing machine, and I couldn't break the tires off of all the beads. Eventually I gave up and took the wheels I couldn't get to a tire shop. They did...

    ruff ride

That doesn't sound normal to me. The Blaster is a very light machine and the stock shocks are not real good, but mine wasn't as bumpy as your's seems to be when I had the stock shocks on. It will probably never be as smooth as your fourtrax because the bigger utility atvs have lots of soft...

    stator

Stator should work I think it probably will work. As far as I know, the motors were never changed in any of the Blasters. In 2003 they changed the brakes and the front hood/headlight, but I'm pretty sure the motors are identical.

    My Project

I really like the bumper and cut fenders. It looks good, its pretty wide considering the a-arms are stock. My only concern is that you might have alot of bumpsteer with your wheel spacers and wheels flipped. An exhaust system is a good mod. I just got a pipe and silencer on mine and it...

    Won't run, need top end?

Thanks for the info bigdblaster. My blaster is a 1995 and I do have the little black box under the front dash. Does this mean I just have to remove the box and disconnect all the wires? I'm planning to switch to an aftermarlet carb, so I'll need to remove the TORS.

    Front brake change over

It depends on what parts you plan on buying. The easiest way to switch would be to buy the complete brake system from a 03 and up blaster. You would also need to get the spindles, hubs, and rotors from the 03 and up.

    Won't run, need top end?

Hey bigdblaster, could you give more details on what to do with the TORS system when you switch to an aftermarket carb? I've read about removing the TORS system, but I've never heard that you had to splice the wires back together. Is that only necessary on newer models?

Missing part of reed. Take engine apart?

How long ago has it been since the reed broke? If the machine has already been run for a while with no internal problems, I might take the easy way out and just install new reeds. The machine probably blew the reeds out the exhaust anyways. If it was a fairly large piece of reed, the best...

is my blaster nice or not

I agree with blaster_boy200, you definitely need to get a bumper! The front end looks unfinished without the bumper.
