I want a 400 shock but they are higher than 450r rears on eBay.

Getting ready to do this mod myself. What size tubing did you use on the inside?

Believe it or not, that's my next order of business. I have been busy and haven't had much time to work on it. I have been looking at several and trying to decide what I want.

Don't be afraid to build stuff. Yes I did this at work, but everything I used was stuff I have at home. Welder, metal cutter of your choice. I used a portable band saw, and a vise to bend my flat bars in.

This is at my work. I had some spare time. Also metal was free, it was scrap. I'm our main welder in our shop, so I'm used to working with metal. Weight is not bad at all. I was going to make it out of aluminum, but couldn't find any aluminum rods, and didn't have quick access to a tig welder.

I made it a little longer than normal. Wanted to be able to strap something to it if needed. Thanks. By the way here is a pic of it freshly made and not painted so you know I actually made it.

Glad you got your leaks fixed. I just went through the same thing. It was a really good thing that i found mine. It was really bad and in several places.

Well, made my leak down tester. Would not even pump 1 psi. I had a leak on the base gasket. Pulled it off and sure enough the hole side is missing. I don't know who did this rebuild, but it sucked. Well 4 days to wait on a gasket to come in. Ridiculous that my nearest yamaha dealer doesn't carry...
