I got all the carb and motor work completed. I just had to back my fuel screw out about 1/2 a turn more and it all cleared up. Its the fastest thing ive ever sat my @$$ on. Gonna look in to lockout clutches to see if I can stop the slipping in 4th and 5th. But for now I am just going to ride it...
Took it down to our playground this weekend. Nothinh but hill climbs and jumps. It ran great, I was climbing anything I wanted in 4th gear with plenty of power to spare. Still a little popping on deceleration when I am off the gas completely but one more trip through the carb and that should be...
may i be permitted to add to this?
from idle to 1/4 throttle if you have issues look at pilot jet size
from 1/4 throttle to 2/3 look at needle position
from 2/3 to wide open throttle look at main jet size
this may be a decent reference for anyone wondering what they need to change. if it...
Those are stock plastics that I masked and hit with a sand blaster for a gloss and matte finish. With my graphics kit it should give me a two tone border to accent everything. Just something I wanted to try for fun and thought it would look cool.
The exhaust glows because its paper thin titanium alloy. Most yfz builders dont bother with a full exhaust because the most power increase ive seen is about 4% over stock. However the muffler gives 16% as a slip on only. They glow straight off the showroom floor with a stock setup. Its just how...
Jetting is right now. My glow stops around 3-4" off the head which is near perfect for these. This was just a freebee from a buddy that let me strap it to some drums for fun. Only insturment we hooked up was for the rpms. Titanium valves are pretty hard to burn up.
Scratch the 260. I just read where its a stock blaster bored 80 over. If you are running as it came stock and the only change is larger bore then stock jetting should be fine. 80 over really isnt a large bore. You may just be able to adjust your needle clip and be fine or not touch a thing and...
260 to start. if your rpms are running away with you run 270 280. but for just an 80 over you don't need to step up a ton unless you are running a port job, full pipe, no lid, and head rechamber.
ok changed to a 180 main and like it. took it up the road and strapped her down to the drums. had to ratchet it down and still was spinning rubber on the drums. had a few hiccups so i may need to move my needle one position to get it right. but here are the results
photo straight off the dyno...
Still tuning it out and once I get the kinks worked out I will try to get a video. Im thinking hard about a +4 to +6 swing arm it comes up way to easily. But that may change too with a new pipe and new sprocket. Im probably going to get her all tuned out and ride it a few weekends to see what...
Ok update. I worked untill midnight last night and got the jetting close. Actual displacement is 563 cu in. My jetting is as follows. 52 piolt and 174 main. The exhaust was faintly glowing at idle after a few minutes so its pretty darn close on the pilot. After about 4 passes up and down the...
ok it's been a while, i got a promotion at work and it's taking all my life but i have gotten some work done. to quote Dr Frankenstein " ITS ALIVE!" but not quite finished. got some major jet issues to work out. it's running super lean but it runs and it's strong. i should pick up a few more...
I ported and cleaned mine up as well before I ever put it on. It had a couple rough casting marks but noting major. However my buddy's we unboxed and bolted right up. Just got in from an after work 3 hr ride amd both still running fine.
