Hey, what size swingarm is ideal? Or would someone suggest? Please let me know what +2, +4, +6 means. I'm assuming inches, but I need to know more. Pl

+2 for woods, +3 for motocross, +4 for desert. +6 for drag racing or hill shooting. That’s what iv found works good on these machines. And yes it’s inches.

    Project yfs250r update

I’d do 30$, springs are silver. From what you are describing I’m not sure it’ll do a ton. They are just bricks. These blasters only have like 7 inches of travel (more like 5 when you measure) and it’s stiff. I’m pretty dedicated to these blasters and if you ever wanna drop your machine off for...

    Project yfs250r update

Going great, picked up an lt250r motor for it. A 88. I have the hood, it’s black. Honestly id want to sell all the plastics together. Front fenders are sold. Have rears, tank cover, and hood. My oem front shocks are mint and I have a 400ex shock I could sell you for the rest however it needs...

    Yfs250r help and update

I need some help but first here an update: rear end is coming along, about 14 5/8 inches of travel. Using a 18.75 inch preditor fox shock. +4 swinger, custom shock mount. Going to use a tusk axle with extended hubs for 50 inches wide in the rear. Front end is going custom made by kael...

    Another homemade swingarm

Old thread… but, yzotis what gauge metal did you use for the shock mounts on the swing arm. Im thinking 3/16 but dont know if it’ll hold. Dont want it too heavy, but has to be strong.

    Tested: 250r shock travel numbers

Exactly! I’d assume a 400ex would add the same too. I ordered a fox podium from a predator that I’ll be testing too

    Tested: 250r shock travel numbers

Something to digest for you blaster owners Trx250r shock travel numbers Here’s something to digest throughout the day. I pulled the spring off of the ysf250r to measure travel before I make a long travel swing arm for it so I can see the comparison. It is a fully stock 93 blaster with a...

    Fully built 240 stroker opinion??

I have questions about striker motors and also an update on project yfs250r. I got a mint 97 cr250 doner bike for 1000$ dollars which runs great however it wasn’t until I got home that i realized the case is JB welded. I’m welding the case and fixing it up a bit and am going to try and make some...

Project YSF250r is a go! A Baja built yz250 swapped blaster.

I would’ve thought the head stay would get more vibes coming through? Thanks for the tip.

Who would buy a long travel swing arm?

I’m in the designing stages, and testing will also need doing, however if I sold a +4 swing arm with a custom shock mount for a true long travel rear end how many of you would buy one at 450$-600$ depending on raw vs paint vs powder coat. It would be setup for a 400ex shock. I noticed no one...

    Project yfs250r update

The internals of the bottom end are good, hell, the case isn’t anything that will stop it from running, it’s on the flywheel side. It ran when I got it but had low compression and wouldn’t run under throttle. I’m in contact with Ken O’Conner racing because Ik he buys old cranks and such so I’m...

    Rear shocks? Worth the switch?

Ok, so I was playing around with the yfs250r rear shock and there is some issues. It’s a trx250r shock with remote resi. I’m moving the shock mount on the swing down and closer to the frame for more travel. Going for as much travel as possible. I’m aware there is a bushing set needed for the...

    Project yfs250r update

Logan? No kidding! I’m in paradise area. I pulled the motor and the case has a big chip in it and the stator cover was homemade with epoxy and a water bottle lid. Not much for the motor. I’m assuming the crank is good and rod, I know it needed a piston but the jug is also fine. I’m pretty much...
