    Project yfs250r update

What are the plans for the coolant reservoir(s)?

Seized 3 new pistons. 1 old one

Thats less than what i was expecting to be honest, but yes could definitely be a cause. I would 100% fix the leak at the reeds, then recheck. Spray the case where it splits in the middle and oil seals as well just to be sure air is not escaping from those trouble spots. Once we feel confident...

Seized 3 new pistons. 1 old one

A leak down test is actually where i would be starting. Almost sounds like you are running lean even though you upped your main jet. Leak down test is checking for air leaks that may be causing the lean condition, i.e. your engine is sucking in unregulated air than the carb can handle. Super...

Upgraded headlight to mini 4 bulb led light

You shouldnt damage the stator, it is going to put out what it can put out, the light isnt going to draw. There are upgrades you can do to the lighting coil for extra brightness, but will still flicker due to current type. You can also float the stator and add a battery/rectifier for charging...

    Blaster clutch

I would be looking at your clutch basket for deep grooves. It sounds as if the clutch is completely open when shifting in to first and its wanting to go. Usually happens when clutch basket is grooved and plates start sticking in said grooves vs able to slide up and down on a smooth basket surface.

I need help jetting my Blaster

Strange, that points to a lean condition typically or timing. 260-270 main does sound right to me, perhaps take the stator cover off and check the flywheel. Make sure it is tight and the woodruff key is still in place on the crank. ANY play at all (flywheel to crankshaft) is a no go, but pay...

Compression, spark, and fuel but wont run after rebuild!

After checking the exhaust and timing (sheared flywheel key, @RIDE-RED350r will tell you, is quite common), make sure you are getting gas to the cylinder itself. When you checked the plug, was it wet or smell of gas? Verifying exhaust is clear and timing is good will bring us back to square one...

Should I mod my 2006 Blaster?

They top out around 8k where I am in Ohio, and thats still steep for my 37 y/o self.

Should I mod my 2006 Blaster?

Depends on what you are looking for. The 450 is a better bike all the way around in my opinion, but riding style will play a huge factor. The money it would take to get the blaster on the same playing field as a stock 450, would more than likely cost more than a 450 dependent on fab skills. The...

Finally have a (kind of) running blaster after combining two (carb / air filter questions)

Thats exactly what I did with mine, actually. @ERM9683 our thoughts above should still apply, but I yanked the TORS out immediately and swapped to PWK28 as well so there may be other spots to look within the TORS cap.

Finally have a (kind of) running blaster after combining two (carb / air filter questions)

Could be a couple of things. I know you already cleaned the carb up, make sure the slide and channel it sits in is nice and smooth. Also, make sure the slide is in the channel correctly, not sure if you can put the top on if it is backwards or not, but could cause a sticking issue. Check out the...

Write up / Info. on Barnett Clutches

I believe you are referring to the judder sping. What some will do is remove that spring and place another full fiber friction plate in its spot. If you do not have a good fiber to put it its spot, i would absolutely run what was supplied in the kit. FWIW, removing the judder and adding the...

Finally have a (kind of) running blaster after combining two (carb / air filter questions)

Sounds like a pilot jet issue to me. If it is ripping 1/4-3/4 throttle (needle) and WOT (main), make sure the pilot is super duper clear as it starts the bike and controls the fuel up to about 1/4 throttle. There are tiny holes in the jet that allow the fuel the vaccuum into the venturi of the...
