i barely have that small lip where the carb bottoms out but i didnt use any thing other than a rag and hot tap water to make it fit!!! It's super tight too
it;s a 34mm vm mikuni round slide off a 350l trail boss fitted to a stock intake WITHOUT removing any material or weakening it. I ironically its off the same quad that i sold it to a buddy for $60 a few years. Now we r having a build off , all out competition!! he's running pretty mean from what i hear

here is the most evident stretching of the rubber!!! just used tap water that was too hot to touch Ran it over the intake boot until it softened up a bit and wedged it in there !!!
