    Looking for my first Blaster

Someone must have removed the air box lid to uncork a wee bit more power. Off the top of my head, I don't. Sorry.

    Looking for my first Blaster

I prefer dual element foam filters suck as Uni. A K&N type with the addition of an Outerwears isn't bad, but I think a quality dual element foam filter is best. So how does she run?? What kind of mods are you considering? My daughter has her first part time job and is saving for a CT...

    Looking for my first Blaster

I believe .080" over is the largest piston Wiseco offers. So it could be bored as many as 8 times (if Wiseco offers oversize pistons in .010" increments). Only way to know what bore it's on is to pull the head and measure the bore and/or piston.

    Looking for my first Blaster

Yes they do very well in trails and mud. But they don't seem too heavy for the little Blaster. She pulls them well 👍🏻. Of course the daughter wants a set of Holeshot GNCC on the rear like Dad's 250Rs once we get it converted to 9" rears.... 🙄🤣🤣

    Looking for my first Blaster

I just went into my Amazon order history to send you a link to the tires I got for it. I don't know if they are a popular seller or low production, but they sho not currently available right now. I'll be getting a set of Banshee extended hubs for her so I can swap some 9" rear wheels on and...

    Looking for my first Blaster

Yeah, the cable actuated brakes leave something to be desired. Adjustment may be needed being you said the rear brake seemed weak. These little air cooled 2-strokes are pretty simple. Basically if it started cold without too much hassle you can probably assume the top end is fairly healthy...

    Looking for my first Blaster

Rear rotor wobbly, as in warped or?? The rear rotor floats on these Blasters. I was pretty taken back by it when I discovered it. I'm used to Honda rear ends. Heavy clutch could be due to a HD clutch spring set. Not terribly uncommon on these sport machines to have a little oil seepage at the...

    Looking for my first Blaster

Depends on where you live and if you intend to ride public/club trails. I live in NY where I have to register my ATVs to ride any public/club trail systems. In NY, the registration is proof of ownership and therefore take the place of a title as NY does not title ATVs. I know things vary...

    Looking for my first Blaster

Doesn't seem too crazy of a price to me. Looks to have been well cared for.

Project YSF250r is a go! A Baja built yz250 swapped blaster.

    Will be following along 👍🏻

Had some questions about carburetors and recommendations

Personally, I wouldn't recommend imitation (Chinese knock-offs) of Mikuni and Keihin carbs. I've been running Keihins for decades, from the stock PE34 on 250Rs, and now a PWK38 Airstryker on one 250R, and a PWK39 bored to 41.2mm by Eddie Sanders on the other. Genuine Keihin carbs never...

Anyone every owned a long travel blaster and a 450?

I was going to suggest a YZ490 engine but wasn't sure if it's workable. A trike buddy of mine did a 490 Tri-Z and it's nasty. And you're probably right about scarcity and price, I know CR500 engines being serious money nowadays

Anyone every owned a long travel blaster and a 450?

Yeah, 250Rs are getting to be big money and they won't ever get cheaper. For your size, I think the Blaster hybrid/mod would be pretty awesome. My daughter stands about 5'-6" and is slight of frame at about 130lbs. We just got the last couple bugs worked out of her Blaster tonight and it fits...

1995(?) Blaster, two-phase rebuild with my daughter

A long overdue update. We got a used good condition a-arm from eBay and got that in. Also did the lower steering stem bushings. Not long after my daughter had it out for a ride in the back 40 with us. It ran good most of the day and the out of the blue quit and would barely run. Daughter also...

Anyone every owned a long travel blaster and a 450?

Or, you could spend about the same money and get yourself the best quad ever made, a TRX250R and trick it out a bit. 🤣 In all seriousness though, it sounds like a cool build. I would definitely want to stretch and widen a YZ250 powdered Blaster. Banshee hubs fit on the Blaster axle, so that...

    Reed bolt snapped

Did it leave any protruding you can get a hold of with a pair of small vice grips or is it flush/recessed? If there is a bit sticking out you can get a hold of, you can carefully heat the area around the broken bolt with a propane torch (not oxy/acetylene!) and it should move. If flush or...

How is your clutch cable adjustment?

    Axle and hub coating

Absolutely, otherwise you will need to keep it touched up by re-sanding periodically.
